This button is used to insert the contents of the Windows clipboard into your document.
If you are copying and pasting within a drawing, the copy will be offset from the original object(s) by one gridpoint up and right.
If you are pasting objects from a different document into the current drawing, they may be pasted outside of the currently visible area; this is a possible consequence of different sizes, locations and zooms on the source and destination drawings. If you do not see pasted objects use the Zoom to Document command (F4) immediately after pasting to adjust your zoom to include all objects in the current document.
Paste supports Clipboard Metafile data, meaning that if you copy from another application like Word, Excel etc, you can paste directly into a drawing.
Each product symbol represents an instance of a product in your Project (a ProductInstance). ProductInstances are given a unique ID attribute value when they're added into a Project which helps to identify which particular ProductInstance each product symbol represents.
When you copy and paste a product symbol, one of two things will happen:
In this way, different drawings can have representations of the same ProductInstance.
if you want to create, for example, a new drawing representing a new part of your system e.g. Classroom 2 which is similar to, but distinct from, Classroom 1, containing new ProductInstances, the best way is to use the Clone Drawing command.
