Plan View Module

The Plan View module is a general purpose 2D CAD environment for working with Floorplan, Reflected Ceiling Plan and general Elevation drawings.  It is expected that the starting point for drawings will be drawings supplied by others, e.g. DWG files or PDF files from Architects or Consultants, and that drawings will be at a 1:1 scale.

The default settings for the Plan View template are as follows:

Symbols in Plan View

Plan View symbols for products in the Stardraw library, i.e. those used when dragging products out of the Product Browser,  are based on the J-STD-710 standard symbol set.  Default symbols have been applied for products that are likely to appear in Floorplan and Ceiling Plan drawings, so there should be a Plan View symbol for products that are:

• not rack-mounted, and
• not part of the Panel Layout library, and
• represented by a product category in the J-STD-710 standard.

Tools in Plan View

The Plan View module has some specific functionality:

• Cable Arc tool, for showing notional cable runs in Floor- and Ceiling plans.
• No views.  Since the base drawing is likely to have been imported from a third party source and will have an unknown Layer structure, Views, like Front View, Rear View etc. do not make sense and so are disabled in Plan View drawings.
