New

Click on the New button on the File toolbar to create a new document based on the template of your choice. When you click on this button you will see a dialog box similar to the example shown here.

The templates set up standard environments for common types of drawing like Schematics and Rack Layouts which have defined Grid, Snap and Layer settings.  The templates also define which functions and views are available through the Tools toolbar.  To work outside the pre-defined environments select "None".
