Other Export Formats

From a Drawing view you can export your drawing in a variety of file formats.  Choose File | Export | All Formats and in the Export As dialog choose the format you want from the Save As Type dropdown at the bottom of the dialog.

Available formats are as follows:

Screen Resolution Image

High Resolution Image

Vector

DWG (AutoCAD)

DXF (AutoCAD)

GIF

JPG

PNG

S01 (Stardraw...2007)

TIF

BMP

EMF (Windows Metafile)*

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)**

* EMF (Windows Enhanced Metafile) is the recommended format if you wish to include a drawing at high quality/resolution in other Windows programs.  The EMF format may contain both Raster (image) and Vector graphic elements so can provide high-res/resolution-independent output and is not limited to the screen resolution offered by the other image formats to which you can export.

** SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is the only vector format supported natively by web browsers. Use this format to include resolution-independent drawings in HTML-based web pages.

Note on PDF: To generate PDF files use the Print command and select as your printer a "PDF Writer";  these manifest as a printer and will allow selection of different page sizes, orientation and other output settings.  Microsoft Print to PDF ships with Windows 10 and Windows 11.  Another example is CutePDF Writer (www.cutepdf.com) which, once installed, appears in your list of Windows printers, so you simply Print to PDF.
