Using the Symbol Tree

The top level of the tree gives your document name, subsequent levels show symbols. If a symbol structure has a “+” by its name it means that the symbol is made up of further symbols and the tree can be expanded. A “-“ shows that the tree has been expanded.

If you highlight a symbol name in the Symbol Tree sub-window, that symbol will be highlighted in the Plot and Report windows. Similarly if you select a symbol in the Plot or Report windows, its structure will be highlighted in the Symbol Tree sub-window. This is indicated with a yellow arrow.

Doubleclicking on a symbol name will display information about its attributes in the Attribute Details window, an example of which is shown here. The long name of the symbol is shown as are all its attributes and their values. If you doubleclick on one of the value fields you can change that attribute’s value.
