It is simple to create your own symbols and you can begin by using any one of the following methods:
Use the Symbol Wizard (for Block Schematic symbols) - Simply select Tools | Symbol Wizard and follow the steps - a new Block Schematic symbol will be created in your document
Edit an existing symbol - drag a symbol into your document, check the Unlock button in the Snap toolbar, and make the changes you need.
Draw a new symbol from scratch
When your symbol is ready, simply drag it into the Library List to a folder under the 'My Symbols' root and type in a symbol name.
The gridpoint closest to the point where you pick the symbol up before dragging it into the Library List will be the insertion point, i.e. the point that sits on your cursor when you drag the symbol from the Library List into a document. Insertion point should be placed as follows:
for a Block Schematic symbol - halfway up the left side of the outline
for a Pictorial Schematic symbol - halfway up the left side of the outline
for a Rack Layout symbol - bottom left corner (for a rackmounted symbol)
To delete user symbols - if you no longer need one of the symbols you've created you can remove it from the Library List if you rightclick and select "Delete".
Identifying your symbols - User symbols display a user icon so it's easy to spot the symbols you've created.
Working with user folders - User symbols must be saved under the 'My Symbols' root folder in the Library List. Right click on a folder and select "New Folder" to create your own user folder. Empty user folders can be deleted and renamed, but you cannot delete a user folder that contains either symbols or subfolders.
Important Note: you cannot drag user symbols into the Online Libraries or Offline Libraries roots.
