Use File | Save As to export your drawing to a different file format.
When you click on Save As, its dialog will be displayed.
In addition to its native .S01 format, Stardraw A/V Lite can save files in .SDP (Stardraw Professional), FCD (FastCAD 2.72 and higher, ShuttleCAD 3.0), DXF and DWG (AutoCAD format) which are all vector formats, as well as BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG and TIF which are raster, or bitmap, formats. Note that you can save to different versions of DWG and DXF file; since there can be significant differences between versions you should save to the version of AutoCAD that the recipient of the file is using, or to an earlier version.
To export your file, choose one of the available formats from the "Save as Type:" box. The file will be converted to and saved with the correct extension for the filetype of your choice.
Internally, DWG and DXF files use a measurement system of 'units'. A unit can be any length, e.g. an inch, a foot or a mile, so to ensure that the DWG/DXF file knows the correct size and scale of your drawing you must define the unit. Internally, Stardraw A/V Lite uses a millimeter as its unit so you should normally define your DWG/DXF unit as 1 millimeter.
Export Visible Layers Only - check this box to discard any hidden layers so that they are not saved in the DWG or DXF output file. Because of the quality and detail of symbols, Stardraw A/V Lite documents can easily contain hundreds of thousands of objects, many of which might not be visible in your current view. Such large files can exceed the memory capabilities of other applications and by exporting only the visible layers you will avoid 'Out of Memory' messages. It will also significantly reduce the DWG/DXF file size.
