Snap to Intersection Modifier

Modifiers affect the way drawing, moving and editing actions behave. When an action is modified it is carried out in relation to something else.

The Snap to Intersection modifier allows you to draw exactly to or from, or move points on objects exactly to the intersection of two or more lines. The intersection can be formed from single lines or from the edges of polygons, circles, arcs or beziers.

When you approach an intersection the cursor will jump to that intersection when you are within a pre-defined distance on-screen from the intersection. This “snap attach” distance is defined using Snap Defaults in the Options menu.

Important: in documents containing many thousands of objects, Snap to Intersection can cause degradation in performance as for each object, every potential intersection with every other object must be calculated every time the mouse is moved.  If you machine seems to slow down or hang, uncheck Snap to Intersection.
