Polygon Tool

The Polygon tool is used to draw shapes which have three sides or more. With this button checked (pushed in) your cursor will become a “+” and you simply click once on your document to place each of the polygon’s nodes. You will see the polygon created dynamically on-screen as nodes are added. Doubleclick to position the last node and finish drawing your polygon.

Polygons can be closed (the endpoint of the last line meets the start point of the first line) or open (there is no link between the final node you positioned by doubleclicking and the first node of the polygon). An open polygon can also be called a path or polyline since it is a collection of chained lines. To define whether a polygon is open or closed, and if closed what, if any, fill style to apply, use the Fill Style box in the Style toolbar. An open polygon cannot be filled.
