Stardraw A/V Lite uses different environments to
allow you to present your system documentation in the most appropriate
format. Engineering
layouts are best produced in the Block Schematic environment, for example,
while sales presentation benefit from the Pictorial Schematic and Rack
Layout environments. Convert
Environment is a productivity tool that means you can automatically assemble
the products from one drawing in a new environment, without having to
re-select symbols from the Library List. This
will save many minutes whenever you have more than one type of drawing
that diagrams a system.
Begin designing your Block Schematic, then select Tools | Convert To
| Pictorial Schematic and a new layout that uses the same products will
be created automatically. All
you have to do is position the symbols as you want them, and add any objects
that are specific to the new drawing.
You can use Convert To... interchangeably between Block Schematic, Pictorial
Schematic and Rack Layout environments. Remember that some symbols do
not make sense for some environments, for example, only rack-mountable
equipment, racks and rack accessories will be passed to the Rack Layout
environment.
