You can disable AutoSave by unchecking the 'AutoSave Enabled' checkbox. Change the value in the 'Time' edit box to change the frequency of AutoSaves.
If you are working on many large documents at once, you may notice that your system appears to slow up occasionally. This occurs because all open documents will be autosaved at the same time - you will then notice the message "Autosave done" in the Status Bar when the process is complete. You can minimize this effect this has by increasing the AutoSave interval so that the save process occurs less frequently, or just disable AutoSave.
