Circular Array

When you choose to paste a Circular Array you will see the dialog shown here. Circular Array creates an arc or ring of the current selection or, if no objects are selected, of the clipboard contents

Count defines the total number of instances of the currently selected object(s) that will form the array.  Note that the current selection will be the first instance and is included in the count.

Rotate Copies: if unchecked, the selection will be copied around the array centre, but will not be rotated.

Copy Over defines the end angle of the array, so a value of 360° will create a complete circle and 180° will create a semi-circle.  Use this option when the endpoint of the array is the most important factor.

Copy Every sets the spacing between copies.  Use this option when you know the spacing between the copies but are unsure of the end angle.

When you have defined the Array parameters click on OK.  You will see a special cursor which allows you to set the Array center.  This cursor is compatible with Modifiers (e.g. Snap to Grid, Snap to Object etc) and a virtual cursor in the shape of a square shows you the exact point that will be the array center if you are using modifiers.  Click to set the center and create the circular array.
